La Tonya (Tonya) is a native of Greenville, SC. She is a graduate of Greenville Technical College, with an Associate’s Degree in Dental Hygiene and a diploma in Dental Assisting. Tonya is the Founder and CEO of LT Butler Company, LLC, where she loves spreading joy to children.
Tonya is a wife and a mother of two beautiful children.
Although Tonya has a passion for assisting others, she has never liked being the center of attention.
However, stepping outside her comfort zone, she was inspired to write her first children’s book on dental hygiene with her daughter, Lauren Butler. Tonya and Lauren believed writing Fuzzy Tooth Critters, would be a fun and creative way to discuss proper oral hygiene care and help ease the fear of dental visits.
During her free time, Tonya loves having date nights with her husband and spending time with family.
She volunteers in the Children’s Ministry at her church, where she finds joy in connecting with children and participating in their extracurricular activities.
Tonya also volunteered for a hospice group, providing companionship and support to caregivers.
While Tonya loves volunteering her time, nothing fills her heart like her sweet “dental babies.” Tonya is employed with a pediatric dental office as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH).
Occasionally, Tonya dresses as the Tooth Fairy, visiting daycare centers and elementary school to help students learn about appropriate oral health care. Tonya started dressing as the Tooth Fairy to gain the attention of students and spark their curiosity during the presentation.
Lauren Butler is the co-author of Fuzzy Tooth Critters and the youngest of the Butler family. Lauren is a cute kid, with big dreams, who admires her mother’s passion! When the project presented itself, Lauren was thrilled to know she would be writing her first book with her mother. She didn’t waste any time sharing or jotting down her ideas.
Lauren enjoyed writing Fuzzy Tooth Critters because she loves storytelling and adores children. She is excited to see her book help teach children the importance of brushing and flossing their teeth.
During her free time, she enjoys making slime, playing on her drums, hip-hop dancing, twirling in her hula-hoop, playing with her dolls, and learning Spanish and American Sign Language. She also enjoys baking yummy cupcakes.
Lauren is a respectful kid with a big heart. Ultimately, Lauren is inspired by her mother, and she dreams of attending Furman University and dental school to someday become a pediatric dentist and “…take x-rays because it’s cool!”
The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your DREAMS.
